in that作固定搭配使用时，指“因为，原因是”，与because，for the reason that同义，可引导原因状语从句。

in addition是介词+名词结构，作用相当于副词；in addition to整个词组相当于一个介词，接名词、动名词、代词等名词性质的词类。

in case和in case of均表示“万一，以防，免得”，但是in case是用作连词，引导条件状语从句，in case of中of是介词，后面只能接带名词性质的词。

in contrast=by contrast，意思是“相比之下”。
